Kemysk, meaning ‘mixture’ in Kernewek, are a Cornish dance display team with members from the length and breadth of Cornwall. Originally formed for a one-off tour to Sidmouth Folk Week and Festival Interceltique de Lorient in the summer of 2010, we decided we were having way too much fun to leave it there.
Since our conception, Kemysk has grown in numbers, dancing throughout Cornwall, the greater South West, and sharing our cultural music and dance with our Celtic cousins in Brittany, the Isle of Man and Wales. Although we are known for our fishnet tights, we can recently be found wearing our traditional Bal Maidens-inspired costume.
